Malty's Inn

Vaey softened her gaze and sighed a small sigh.
"Look. I dont know who this family is.....and from what the Misses told me they sound to be very good people....if not the MIsses will know....dont worry ok?" She held his head in her hands. Trying to help him stop crying.
"They will be with us for the day and they will have a little christmas of our own we will have our time with us. Try to make the best of it."

She gave a small kiss to the top of his head.

Nergal looked up whit teary eyes."Look outside mom, its the best day for it".The snow was great outside, as it fell down."Hey Malty sniffle, we shld go out, and fell us a tree Malty". Nergal blinked."Ill go to the top, and cut it".He said whit a smile, and looked at him.

Ma;ty gave a nice smile and gave a small hug to Nergal. He could understnand this a little. Valey stood and went away tryig to find Regina and the others. It was now Malty and Nergal now.

"Sure. Lets go."

Malty stepped out in the snow and is fur changed the instant he touched the snow. From blue and so many other fur patterns to white as the snow he walked on....he sat the puzzled.

"Wha....what...." Then he remembered the cross....it glew a little.

"That is a nice little trick....well there are many trees out the Nergal....lets split....you find one and cut it down....we will compae the ones when we meet back here if you want."

And Nergal looked at Malty."Ok ill go this way".And he looked at Malty."When shall we meet back, say about one hour or somthing Malty".He looked at him, for an answer.

Malty gave a nod.
"Good deal. One hour,"
Malty gave another nod and went on is way. He thought looking for a simple tree would not be so hard.
But in reality. Most of the trees being made from oak....and many more diffrent kinds...he would have to find one that looks good and can fit in the inn...none the less the front door.

"I really hope Nergal will have better luck than I."

and Nergal walked to the left, and looked all over, there was no pine wood here, then he saw on the top, and there stood the most beautyful pine that he had ever seen, he touhgt it would be sad to cut it down, and he looked at it, then he saw a smaller tree,it was pine too, and he smiled, it was about 3 meters high, and he cut it down, and tugged it whit him, and called over his shulder." HEY MALTY ARE YOU CLOSE BY". he called, and hoped he was.

Malty heard some murmes in the distance knowing it was Nergals. Obviously he was yelling about something....but Malty could not make out Nergal's words. He was not to far away.

Malty let out a howl....saying that he was there...and waited for a call.

"Damn come here you big mutt".He screamed whit his lungs power."I have a tree, but I cant take it myself, back to the house, its to big and heavy for me to carry".

Malty did however hear that. His ears dropped with a layer of annoyance and grumbled as he made his way to Nergal.

Malty when he goth there looked up at the tree. It was a beaut. He could understand that it may be heavy. ....it had some size to it...

Malty then looked at Nergal with a cocky grin.
"so.....cut it down. You do have your daggers on you right?"

"I have this tree, I culdent get myself to cut that beauty down Malty, I just culdent, at that tree is 20 meter´s high, I think it would be little to big for the Inn, so I think we should let it stay were it is".And he looks at Malty."But I have this one".He looked at him whit a smile."I know you want to do somthing,I see it in your eyes mutt".He licked his chin.

MAlty nipped at his ears. He was getting tired of being called mutt. But he did not say. He looked at the other tree Nergal spoke of and nodded his head. It was just fine. not to big and not to bad looking either.
"Wow. Okay nice pick." Malty looked at Nergal with a smile and licked the side Nergal's face.
He pointed at the tree with his nose.
"Want to do the honors?"

He wanted Nergal to cut the tree down. Malty could have easily but.....he did not want to set fire to anything. Personal experiance.

And Nergal had stolen, no burrowed an axe from the Inn, and he cut the tree down whit six chops, and said". Timber".When it had fallen on Malty, and he gigled, he was all cowerd in snow."Look at Malty the snowman".Giggled Nergal, and helped Malty up again, and laid himself on Malty´s lap, he knew he deserved his paw now.

MAly pushed Nergal off....but did so with enough force to send MAlty sliding for quite a distance. Malty then Ran back into the inn....and came back out with a few barbes and ropes. He did his best by roping the tree and made sure that it would not get loose when he and Nergal was pulling it.

"Get your butt up and pull this thing. You should be able to do this by yourself...right?"

Malty squnted his eyes....regreting being nice to him earlier on.

And Nergal giggled, and cast a ball of snow on his face."Snow war aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr".And he threw much more snow balls at Malty." Hey I got an Idea, lets invite those two to a snow war, what you say Malty, it will be funny bouth for us and for them".He looked at Malty eagerly.

Malty st with a patch of snow on his face....he was beginning to lose his temper. The snow vitually Melted on his face.
"I thoought we were going to get a TREE....." Malty was trying his best to keep his cool...he bore fangs every once in a while though....he was on the verge of tearing Nergal a new one.

And Nergal giggled."Who is about to loose his temper".Giggles and shows snow at Malty."Meybe this will cool you down".Showers Malty whit snow, so all his body was cowerd in snow, it should cool him down, and he hurried to take the tree, and draged it to the Inn, and dashed up to his room, and warned Valey." Malty isent to happy, he had much to work whit, so I cooled him a bit down, bie". Closing door.

I hope Malty isent to mad

Malty stompped into the inn covered with snow.....some actuall stuck to her fur. He marched right upstairs and past Valey who then turened to Cassandra right as he past.

"Ummm Malty?....are you alright?" Malty turned quickly around o look at CAssandra. His eyes were blazing.

"WHY CAN HE NOT TAKE ANYTHING SERIOUSLY!!!??" Immediatly Cassandra knew where this was going. But she listened to him rant non the less. Very entertaining.

"Everytime we are out, every time we try to do somthing, everytime Cassandra!! He finds a way to make fun of it."

Cassandra sat down and pulled Nergal between her legs.

"Hey...clam down...you were just finding a tree. It is not that big of a deal. Right?" Malty gave a sigh but did not answer. He looked at the ground feeling the after affects.

Cassandra held his paws in hers and she stood up. Making Malty stand on her back legs.

"Look. Nergal is just a teen. He will want to have fun and be in the fast lane."

MAlty thoguht she was taking sides and gave a small glare.
"But....yes he did not take in the fact that you lack a sense of humor." Malty made his ears go crocked..."But. he shuld at least-!!!!!!"

Cassandra pulled Malty in for a hug around then neck. Malty for some reson did not respond....he got the idea and stopped his mad streak.

"Better?"
"Better."

She then gave a kiss to his forhead and hopped on his back. He smiled and walked to Nergal's room.

"Nergal. Open the door."

"No I Will not, its a secret what is in here". Said Nergal, and dident open the door. "You just have to wait outside the hall, until i am Finished, has Malty placed the christmas tree yeath hm".He giggled." I had it so funny outside, I cooled Malty a bit down, he was so hot, you know so I did him a favor, but ill be out any second".

Malty twitched as Nergal said this...he was beginning to boil agian.
"Hush....Malty calm down....Misses?"

The Misses came up the stairs. Holding a few things.
"Yes?"
Where are the girls and the kids?"
"Oh. They went to the streets to shop around. They told me they had access to the kings fund of Grandan,...lucky you."

Cassandra gave a giggle. She knew that they all were going to have a ball. Malty however was mad enough that his eye twitched.

Cassandra go off and stood in front of him. She gave a half concerned and half fearful look. She could not read his mind and what he thought might have scared her.

"Malty....Malty....do you hear me?" Malty did not budge.

So Cassandra tried to reason."It is going to be an early christmas. He is probably getting a gift ready." Malty still did not budge..."If you dont move....I will get the girls to do what they did before Nergal came over."...Malty snapped out immediatly and backed away from the door and went into a room.....Cassandra giggled a bit....but then sat on the wall adjacent to Nergal's room.

And Nergal Began to thunder a slege hammer on a bolt, that he had found, and it went BBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRIIINNNNNGGGGGGG BBBBBBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRIIINNGGGGGGGGG throught the whole house, but when he was finished, he had a christmas star of pure gold, and inside the middle of it, he had done a wolf immage of Malty, this was a gift to him, as all the others had got theirs allready,and he wraped it in,and opned the door." HERE I AM MUTT".

Cassandra was then outraged.
"THAT IS WhAT YU HAVE BEEN CALLING HIM!!??"

And he slamed the door just beside Cassandras face, and giggled, and found out there were no window´s."Oh damn, what to do now". He was in deep shit, he culdent go anywere now."My god". He was in trubble, he began to panic, and he fell down on the floor, dident know what to do, he was affraid, he was in a closed room,and he opned the door, there was nobody there,and he dashed for the door out of the Inn.

Cassandra was back in Malty's room. She was trying to stop Malty from getting depressed or getting any more than he was.
"Malty please dont do this....all that was behind you. Please dont bring yourself back then." Malty was lying on his bed...looking at the ceiling. He did not speak or think.....he tried his best to calm himself but....his past and the name he was called haunted him....

"Malty..."
".....yeah...?"
"I-....*sigh*....want me to do that agian? Cassandra held a brush in her hand and smiled and bright smile. Malty gave a small grin and rolled to his side looking away from he and she began to brush.

"Cassanda.....what did you think of me when you first saw me?"

Cassandra was suprised by his question.
"Do I have to say anything? The first time I saw you.....Honestly....I was suprised by your fur pattern."
Malty looked over at her in an akward fashion.
"But....I saw something very unique about you...you were as shy as Helena when we first met."
Cassandra had a very warm smile as she was rbushing now. Malty rolled his head back over with a lighter heart.
"Thanks....but...I dont know why the words still hurt...." Cassandra understood what he ment and gave a sad sigh....and laid on his side.

Her head rested on his and he rolled over....and she was now chest to chest and face to face with him.

"We wil talk to Nergal when he gets back home. Alright?"Malty gave a smile and nod....and he gave her a lick to her face...and she gave a kiss to his lips. Both were happy agian.

Nergal Walked outside, there was somthing he had forgotten, and there it was, a sheet, and he had a pen, and he writed down on it, and looked over his shulder, and had done the paper, and looked at it, ready to wrap the gift in, on the paper stood."I am sorry Malty, of all the things I said about you, I found it funny then, but now that I have tought of it, it makes me quite sad, so I am so sorry Malty".He wraped it in the paper to, and then he went back into the house, and was werry shy."Here Malty, a gift to you".His ears hung low.

Malty took the letter and read it.....his expression began t change with every moment.....after reading the letter...he looked up with a calm smile....He then let Cassandra move off and he sat in front of Nergal....with a light stern look.
"I have taken a great deal from you Nergal....and I have to say that I am tired of it.....but I also believe that you have already began to understand....and you being like this..I can forgive you." MAlty gave a small lick to the top of nergal's head and used his muzzel to make Nergal look up at him.

"You are fine.....just dont call me by that name.....it hurts alot." Malty let his ears drop a fre inches.

"Are you alright.....I am not used to seeing you like this."
